WHAT IS ALPHA?
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone
to explore the Christian faith.
It’s relaxed, low key, friendly and fun.
There is a meal together at the beginning of each session
which gives an opportunity to get to know each other.
Listen, learn, discuss and discover.
And ask anything.
Alpha is a place where no question is
too simple or too hostile.
And it’s supported by all the main Christian denominations.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks
looking at topics such as
‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’
After each talk we divide into small groups
for a time of discussion.

WHO IS ALPHA FOR?
Alpha is for everyone, especially:
• Those wanting to investigate Christianity
• New Christians
• Newcomers to the church
• Those who want to brush up on the basics

WHAT WILL IT COST?
There is no charge for the Alpha course,
although you may be asked to make a contribution
towards food.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ALPHA?

The Alpha course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues related to the Christian faith.
The format is:: • Meal - 1hr; • Talk - 45mins; • Coffee and small group discussion - 1hr
SCHEDULE: Begins: Monday, March 24 at 6 pm; Introductory Dinner: Is there more to life than this?; Week 1: Who is Jesus?; Week 2: Why did Jesus die?; Week 3: How can we have faith?; Week 4: Why and how do I pray?; Week 5: Why and how should I read the Bible?; Week 6: How does God guide us?; Week 7: How can I resist evil?; Week 8: Why & how should we tell others?; Week 9: Does God heal today?; Week 10: What about the Church?
Weekend: Who is the Holy Spirit?: What does the Holy Spirit do?; How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?; How can I make the most of the rest of my life?
Please note: There is no obligation to attend all ten sessions.
The course curriculum is the book: 'Questions of Life' by Nicky Gumbel.; Each talk reflects one of the chapters from this book.
