Mission Statement

PURPOSE

The is a ministry, which will address issues impacting the local Body of Christ and the wider community as well.  The Forum will attempt to build up and undergird individual Christians and congregations, while at the same time present the Gospel to the unchurched.

TACTICS

The Forum will facilitate speakers, conferences and events in which scholars impact church and society.  While the form of the message will be irenic and inclusive, the content will be orthodox Christianity—what C.S. Lewis termed “Mere Christianity.”

We are striving to develop closer working relationships with our Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox brethren so as to present a united front to the culture at large.  In the words of Joseph Cardinal Suenens (a major player at the Vatican II Council), “the walls of separation do not reach up to heaven.”

GOALS

The Forum will ask the local churches to suggest issues they wish addressed.  Our ultimate goal is not to replace existing churches or ministries, but to encourage and strengthen them by presenting the Christian life/worldview to all.  Indeed, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you 5to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15.  Also, while our main goal is education and instruction, we are mindful of the need to present the Gospel to the unconverted: “…do the work of an evangelist….”  2 Timothy 2:5b
